Applications Support Consultant

The Support Analyst will be part of a Managed Services team providing offsite and onsite support.

We are looking for an Applications Support Consultant to join our team. The Support Analyst will be part of a Managed Services team providing offsite and onsite support. Study experience in .NET technologies with sound technical problem solving skills are essential.
 
Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Managing, recording and documenting all changes to supported installations.
  • Identifying and implementing effective resolutions to application problems.
  • Managing system security, system patching and upgrades.
  • Documenting application configuration and architecture.
  • Documentation of existing and developed systems.
  • Providing technical support offsite and onsite at client’s premises.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge and skills to be able to create optimal solutions to technical / application client problems and queries.
  • Resolving client problems and queries in an effective and timely manner.
  • Identifying and escalating more complex technical issues to relevant parties.
  • Attending relevant product and skill courses.

Key Skills and Experience Required/Desired:

  • Knowledge and/or experience of .NET and/or Java skills.
  • Knowledge of HTML (HTML5 highly desirable), CSS and JavaScript.
  • Testing Knowledge.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server (server, client and management tools).
  • Web server administration.
  • Knowledge of windows server administration skills (2008+).
  • Good windows, UNIX, Linux usage knowledge and/or experience.
  • Basic networking knowledge.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Other Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Good understanding of ITIL processes – incident and problem management.
  • SSRS, SSAS and SSIS knowledge.
  • Industry certifications such as MTA or MCSD
